A breath of fresh air, that is how Mark Anthony Liu appeared to me during the bloggers’ launch of AffiniTEA Raise d’Roof Fun Run held recently at Aegis People Support, Ayala-Buendia Avenues. This run for a cause is slated December 15 at CCP Grounds. He got that glow, a radiance, that must come from drinking the natural health tea rich in oxidants that he has been selling for more than 5 years now and with 7 branches ( 2 he owns and 5 are franchises) to date. On the other hand, it must be from his heart of gold that at such a young age he got the generosity and the concern for the plight of the less fortunate kids of Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, his race’s major beneficiary.
Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, as I have known from Mark, houses about 49 kids in a private compound in Pasig that can barely keep up with the ever-growing number of kids ranging in age from just born to 16 years old. He personally witnessed how the caretakers headed by the husband and wife tandem of Rey and Myrna Ortega make do of their limited resources to keep the place properly maintained and sustained in a loving and religious atmosphere.
This is not the first endeavor of Mark, though, in helping the less fortunate. The bug of reaching out for the others had been planted in him in 2006 when he had his first crusade to benefit cancer patients. From that point in time, he made it a personal quest to involve a degree of passing on to others what little blessings he received in life.
After some few minutes talking with him, I ascertained that aura he emanates – the glow of a good heart.
You can visit AffiniTEA’s facebook page for added information regarding the company and for franchise inquiries. In fact, there is a special rate that will be offered before the year ends as I personally learned from the proprietor himself.
More information about the race can be had in my previous post HERE.
